DIY Short Film Distribution

With the rise of submission platforms, short film distribution seems quite an easy task today in comparison to a decade ago. However, this is not quite the case. For many filmmakers, the best option seems to be working with professional companies that submit their films to festivals. But is it possible to be selected without a distributor or sales agent attached? By giving concrete examples and sharing their personal expertise, this panel aims to discuss the “do it yourself” distribution strategies which three directors successfully used to push their short films into the festival circuit.
